Today will be a special post.
I reached 1K subs on Youtube and wanted to thank you, whether you are a Youtube sub, a Youtube non-sub viewer, or a reader of this blog!
While I reached that milestone way faster in Facebook, I’m not interested in the numbers as a matter of vanity metric.
What I’ve been concerned about from day 1 is whether I was following the right course or not.
In other terms: have I been able to provide value?
Because trust me, Youtube can be very hard! I knew it would be, but I never thought it would be that hard!
That being said, I’m enjoying the journey and feel I’m growing with the community.
Initially I had a strong focus on helping non-entrepreneurs step into the entrepreneurial world, with the power of the internet and the digital tools at hand.
In that perspective, I created a course composed of 30 videos, release on Youtube.
But all I heard was crickets :/
Ego aside, it was hard to understand because although it is not perfect (what is?) I still believe there is so much value poured into this course.
So I started experimenting and had to come through a reality check: the videos that seemed to provide the most direct value were practical videos: reviews, software, toos, and web design tutorials.
I often refer to myself as a Digital Alchemist, and these disciplines are part of my digital toolset, so I decided to produce more of these.
Not because I want to abandon my first idea.
But because:
1. Youtube is about You, not me. And it has taught me to listen. Listen to what people need instead of what I thought they needed at this stage.
2. I know that in order to help people with my initial idea, I need to have a voice first. And in order to have a voice, I must make tactical choices. The average video takes between 7 and 12 hours to produce. Tutorial can double or triple those figures. So spending time where I can have an impact is crucial.
I could write on and on but … I will ask you one thing. One thing only.
If I ever provided any value to you, it would mean the world to me if you could join my Youtube channel, by subscribing and becoming part of the community !
Once again, thank you!
