Let’s take John Doe, in search for Jane Doe.
John has a name, a way of dressing, a way of smiling. He likes a certain type of music, makes a certain type of jokes and stands up for specific causes.
People know John for a specific set of skills and talents.
People who know John recognize his voice, his laughter, as well as the way he sings.
That is John’s branding.
John also happens to be single. So he’s looking for his Jane Doe.
John has to first define what the perfect Jane Doe means to him. Once that is done, John had better hang out where his potential Jane Doe is hanging out.
We’re not talking about stalking! But rather to be at the right place, at the right time.
Of course, there is much more to it than that.
But John showing up to get a chance to talk to his perfect Jane Doe …
This is John’s marketing.
